Fish Identification with the AGFC Mobile Aquarium

Many regulations governing fishing in Arkansas are specific to certain species, so it is important to identify the fish one catches. Although some look very similar to the untrained eye.
Anglers look closely at the shape, color, fins, mouth, and other characteristics to tell the different species. Sometimes differences are subtle and challenging, and one must be a detective searching for clues that will reveal the fish’s true identity.

Species in the aquarium vary depending on what we have available at any given time. Generally Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Crappie, Buffalo, Walleye, Gar, Drum and Common Carp.
